I am a fellow of the British Academy and a member of the Royal Irish Academy, and serve inter alia on the Scientific Council of Bruegel, and the Comité scientifique, Autorité de contrôle prudentiel et de resolution, Banque de France. My research is in the fields of economic history and international economics, and I have written extensively on the history of globalization.
