Christian GRATALOUP

Professor of Geohistory - Paris Diderot University Institute of Geography

Interests, Fields of Research:

Keywords: Geographical analysis of the historic processes. Historic mapping (cartography). Spatial analysis of the historic dynamics in the long lasting.

In the lineage of the historian Fernand Braudel, Christian Grataloup looks for the recurrences of geographical configurations to propose modellings. His work is situated in the prospect of global history. He so leads a critical analysis of the big spatial divisions, in particular « continents », and practices of planispheres.
